Uses: The Opal has been gravely misunderstood. It is difficult to wear because it is very fragile and needs special care and conscious attention. If you wear an Opal ring, for example, be careful not to bang your hand against a hard surface, or the stone may break.
The key to understanding Opal is balance. Like the Malachite, Opal will crack if you are out of sync, in danger, or under stress. For this reason, wear Opal to ensure your safety and to protect your position against those who wish you harm, or simply to bring good fortune.
Opal may be used to cure eye diseases as well as to render the wearer invisible.
The natural, youthful lustre of hair may be maintained by wearing Opal barrettes or earrings that touch the hair in some way. If the stone begins to fade, you may need to increase your vitamin intake or change your shampoo to keep your hair looking shiny and healthy.
